I’m looking outside the windows of the airport in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, waiting for our United flight to Houston to show up. Around me is a fantastic team from Powell, Wyoming that is sad to go home, yet so thankful that they made the effort to come to Honduras to do a work trip. They worked hard all week, loved the people without any reservations, and received a ton of love in return.
Of course my mind also goes back to many of the 100+ other teams that we have taken internationally over the years. It boggles my mind when I think of the different teams, places, events, and focused reasons for each trip-- women’s conferences, leadership training, baseball, tennis, swimming, basketball, soccer, humanitarian aid, orphanage, pastoral training, softball, golf, hundreds of building teams, puppets, music, and even track and field. Absolutely an amazing process with each team, each person.
I am confident in what we do, not arrogant. I see how God uses our teams, which is what I will boast in. To each one reading this post, just know that we can specialize a trip around a group that has almost any interest you can think of. If you are interested in a missions trip through FSI, please contact me through our website (friendshipsports.net) or directly (307-254-4813, firstname.lastname@example.org).
Soon we will be home again, home to families and friends and reality. I am hopeful that this trip is something God can use in each team member, even as they have touched other lives this week.
Thanks for praying and supporting this team. Many blessings to you.
