Pre Trip Devotionals: This would be good to go through the week before we leave on your own or with team members. The goal of this to your mind in the right frame for the trip! Each day there is a devotional followed by a Tip of the day to prepare.
Day 1: Help Me to See (Document) (Audio) - Tips for the Day: Packing: (Clothes to paint in, maybe even leave behind or throw way), work gloves, journal Bible, Travel: (easy access to your Passport is important in the airports. Travel Plan Document, Snacks and fluids) The trip leader will lead through customs navigation with a step by step before we depart: Pray for your Hosts Doug Harrold, and his daughter and son Maya and Willy who will be with us and for their entire Hands of Grace Ministry staff.
Day2: A Way of Being (Document)(Audio) - Tips for the Day: You don’t want to much cash on you. Cash is only needed for souvenirs in the market as most all other places will take your credit/debit -make sure your credit card companies/bank know you are traveling. Your trip leader will have your medical insurance cards should you need them. Pray for our driver Guillermo.
Day 3:A Way of Doing (Document)(Audio) Tips for the Day: What simple medicine might you want (allergies/Imodium/Ibuprofen or Tylenol etc. - You will be in and out of mountains - Drinking lots of water is key! Make sure you have a good water bottle but drink the right water (no faucet water, shower water) if unsure always ask! And no flushing TP in the toilets either. Put TP in the trash next to the toilet. It wouldn’t hurt to have a roll packed in your check in :) - we will explain more on the trip! Pray for the Village of El Sito where we will do ministry.
Day 4: A Way of Trusting: (Document)(Audio) Tips for the day: We recommend starting each day if you can with a short devotional and prayer time with our FSI Devotional. You can purchase it here at the following link from Amazon but do so before the trip. (Click Here) In the evening we will find time to debrief and reflect as a group. For day packing you will want to have your backpack, string bag, etc. Pray for all teachers and leaders of the El Sito Ministry specifically.
Day 5: A Way of Growing (Document)(Audio) - Tips for the day: Never forget: Don’t measure success by what you build or do—impact often comes through conversations and presence. Go with humility—observe, listen, and seek to understand the local culture before jumping in to help. (Check over the packings list, and travel plan one for time, weigh your suitcase if you thinks its to heavy before you go. And get excited for what lies ahead! Oh and Keep that passport safe and handy as you travel! :) Pray for all your team members.
